I will tell you about the user experience of the JAPAN & GLOBAL SIM, which is currently being sold at various locations such as FamilyMart stores nationwide, airports, convenience stores, hotels, and tourist information centers.
This SIM card can be used multiple times without the need for replacement. I didn’t know that.
I will be visiting Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang in Vietnam this time. So let’s get started right away!

No need to replace the SIM card! Just use this one card as many times as you want.
First, let’s buy the SIM card. You can purchase it at FamilyMart stores nationwide or vending machines at airports.
After purchasing, insert the SIM card into your mobile phone and select the country you want to use it in, the data capacity, and the duration.
I selected the “Asia 8 Countries” plan, which includes Vietnam.
I was undecided between 1GB and 500MB, but I chose 1GB.
In the end, 500MB was enough, so please consider it carefully when making a purchase.
Then, simply complete the payment with your credit card.

Hmm, it’s really hot in July~ And the usual long immigration queue is still here, haha.
I usually buy the SIM card right after leaving the arrival lobby, but this time, since I already set it up in Japan, all I have to do is turn on the phone after arrival.
Now, let’s see if it works properly~!

And I’m glad the card chose Viettel as the carrier!
(I think it might feel slower with other carriers.)
The user experience was just as good as when I bought a SIM card locally.
Speaking of Viettel’s SIM card, it costs around 2,000 yen if you buy it locally.
Here’s a comparison:
Local SIM Card: 2,000 yen
JAPAN & GLOBAL SIM Card: 1,000 yen for the main unit + usage fee
It’s about the same price with 500MB.
From the second time onwards, since there is no cost for the SIM card itself, it’s clearly cheaper!!
This raises a question: Is 500MB per day enough?
In the end, I signed up for 1GB, but how much data do you think I used during the 7 days, using it all day from morning to night?
The answer is…
Only 1.3GB!
Indeed, there is comfortable Wi-Fi available everywhere, even in hotels, so 500MB per day is definitely sufficient.
